Chapter 154
Just then, Amara rounded the corner. Fortune favored the bold, and cutting off someone's financial lifeline was
akin to a serious betrayal.
Finnian was probably worried that if he badmouthed her in front of Larry, causing her to completely lose her
shares in the Sullivan Group, she might retaliate in a way that could harm him. So, he threw in a few good words
for her.
After all, it was just a few pleasantries—no skin off Finnian's back. Saying something nice didn't cost him
anything.
"Alright, you two head out. | need to rest now," Larry said, waving them away, clearly uninterested in dealing
with them any longer.
Amara nodded. "Take care, Dad. We'll head out. If you need anything, just givea call."
Amara understood that her standing with Larry had changed. Why else would he not have informed her about his

She lowered her gaze and left the room with Finnian.
As soon as they stepped into the corridor, Finnian remarked, "Your dad still doesn't know about Keith. He'll be
furious if he finds out, won't he?"
Though what Finnian just did was a small gesture, a favor for her, she was somewhat grateful.
Yet, as soon as they were out of the room, Finnian's true colors showed, and her gratitude evaporated. She
looked up and asked, "Mr. Everly, are you threatening me?"
Finnian's demeanor turned cold. He gazed up, his voice now icy. "Do you really think that of me?"
He couldn't believe Amara's view of him. What kind of person did she think he was?
Realizing her overreaction, Amara quietly said, "Sorry, that's not what | meant."
Finnian kept a stern face, saying

traveled fast, and Amara's affair would eventually reach Larry. Given Larry's traditional nature, he'd likely be
furious and might even reconsider leaving Amara any
shares once he learned of it.
In order to prevent the scenafrom surfacing, should they make spreparations? Finnian had even
considered that if Amara asked for his help to keep the affair hidden, he might be willing to assist.
Instead, Amara had misunderstood him completely, assuming he was threatening her. Finnian's eyes flashed
with a hint of irony.
If he truly intended to threaten her, attempting to bring her affair up to Larry, why would he have spoken on her
behalf in the hospital room?
Yet Amara seemed to have painted him as the villain, quick to accuse him. Finnian's eyes were clouded with cold
anger, leaving Amara. flustered and unsure of what to say, creating a tense atmosphere
between them.
Just then, a light, teasing voice broke the tension.

Amara looked up to see Elowen and Fiona approaching, their faces adorned with heavy makeup, stopping in front

Elowen then turned her attention to Finnian, her tone shifting to something much softer.
