Chapter 118
Amara didn't take the contract. Her hands were clenched into fists, and she was shaking with indignation. She
couldn't believe it-Finnian was still going to fire her, just to please Liliana!
Sure, his words were a bit more polished than yesterday, easier to swallow. But the message was the same. They
wanted her out of the production!
"Um, Mr. Everly, Amara's the one who knows Whispers of Winter inside out. If she leaves, who's going to keep
the story on track?"
Cedric was just as shocked as he was and, not daring to oppose his investor directly, he asked in a hopeful tone.
"Exactly, Mr. Everly. Who's going to take over as the screenwriter if Amara leaves? Bringing in someone new who
doesn't understand the plot could be a hassle in many aspects."
Everyone had heard Finnian's words, but only a few dared to actually confront him. Now, three or four stood
around him, all eyes on his every move.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtFinnian's expression didn't change a bit. "Understanding the plot isn't an issue. Give someone a week, and they'll
catch up. With so many talented screenwriters in Zephyria, as long as the money's right, finding someone won't
be a problem." His words clearly meant he'd cover all the costs of hiring a new one.
Truth was, aside from Cedric, the others weren't truly worried about Amara. They were just concerned that
changing screenwriters might cause chaos.
Now that Finnian was taking full responsibility and seemed willing to pay top dollar for a good screenwriter, it
wouldn't get awry and they could relax and just watch the unfold.
They backed off, leaving a clear space between Amara and Finnian. Amara looked at the man's indifferent face,
her heart burning with a mix of rage and hurt.
She held her fists tightly, her eyes threatening to spill over. No one had ever seen her look so upset and grieved,
and for a moment, silence filled the place.
Finnian's handsface remained impassive, showing no hint of emotion.
"Sign the contract, Amara. Do you have a new script? I'll find you a director and invest in it, ensuring your next
project shines."
Was he providing her the

compensation, afraid she'd decline the offer, or was he giving her, money, fearing she'd take this u with Kevin?
Amara let out a bitter laugh. "And what if | refuse?"
Finnian's voice was calm. "You won't refuse."
up
Amara was momentarily stunned, unsure of what he meant. Then it hit her, and she stared at him in disbelief,
eyes wide open.
Was Finnian threatening her? And what leverage did he have? A hundred possibilities ran through her mind.
She and Finnian weren't in the sleague. If he truly intended to threaten her, he could probably find a
hundred ways to do it.
A chill ran down her spine, her rage and hatred for this man reaching their peak.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Ms. Sullivan, please sign it," Liliana advised, her voice soft and gentle as she stepped in, noticing the silence
among them.
"You're a very talented screenwriter. Focus on writing new scripts and creating great shows. Don't let your talent
go to waste. Besides, Whispers of Winter's plot is already set. It doesn't really need your attention anymore. We
promise we won't make major changes, and if we do, we'll call you to discuss it, okay?"
Liliana's voice was warm and amiable, as if she considered Amara, but Amara detested her.
Sure, the storyline for Whispers of Winter was established. Most days, Amara didn't have much to do at the set
except read or watch the filming.
