Chapter 361 The Knight Family Must All Die

Stellan had no clue why Joe showed up, but Alaric had a pretty good hunch-it had to be about that big 60th

birthday bash.

"Sorry to bug you so early," Joe said, all polite-like. "I'm here for Mrs. Knight. She's hitting the big 60, and it's

gonna be a huge deal. Even though you guys aren't on speaking terms, she doesn't wanna be the butt of jokes.

Mr. Knight, you should be there."

Stellan was like, "A 60th birthday party?"

Alaric hadn't planned on spilling the beans to Stellan, but it looked like the cat was outta the bag.

"Is the mean grandma having a birthday?" Elisa piped up first.

"Yup," Caspian said, "Her birthday's always around this time."

"We've already cut ties, so why do we gotta go? We got school," Harry grumbled, clearly not feeling it.

"I don't wanna go either," Elisa chimed in. Not even the promise of good food could sway her.

Alaric turned to Stellan and asked, "Galatea, what do you think?"

By asking her, Alaric was already kinda leaning towards going. After all, it was his mom, and he did wanna show

up for her 60th and keep sdignity.

But Marigold had tried to kidnap her, and Stellan couldn't just let that slide. She'd been too swamped with work

to deal with Marigold, and now she didn't wanna play nice for her birthday.

"There's a lot going on at the company lately, so | probably won't have time. Alaric, if you wanna go, just go."

That was Stellan's biggest compromise. If Alaric wanted to go, she wouldn't stop him, but she definitely wasn't

going herself.

"You heard her," Alaric told Joe. "Pass the words. And tell her that if she really cared about the Knight Family's

rep, things wouldn't have gotten this bad. I also wish her a happy birthday and good health." Alaric had called

her "Mrs. Knight" and "her," not once saying "Mom."

"| get it, Mr. Knight. I'll go back and tell Mrs. Knight." With that, Joe turned and left.

"Alaric, if you wanna go, you should..." Stellan said, thinking about Alaric's feelings. If he'd feel guilty for not

going, she'd rather he went.

"No," Alaric said, "Since we've already cut ties, let's cut them completely. Besides, I'm recovering and don't like

noisy places."

Since Alaric had said that, Stellan didn't push it.

Hearing Joe's words, Marigold couldn't calm down for a long time. "Did Alaric really say that?"

Joe nodded. "Yeah."

Marigold fumed, "He calls'Mrs. Knight' now and won't even call'‘Mom'?"

Joe just hung his head in silence.

"Fine, if he's that heartless, there's no need to hold on. I'll cut ties with him completely. I'll never see Alaric

again!" Marigold was dead set this time, like raising him had been for nothing.

Joe asked, "What about the 60th birthday celebration?"

"I'll have it!" Marigold snapped, "I'll throw that party even if Alaric doesn't show. Not only will | have it, but it'll be

grand. If anyone asks why Alaric and his family aren't here, I'll tell them he was bewitched by that witch Stellan.

That witch not only stole my son but also took over Nexus Innovations. | can't do anything to her, but I'll make

sure the whole world knows about her dirty deeds. She'll carry that shforever!"

"Right," Joe chimed in, stoking the fire, "That witch has gone too far; we can't let her get away with it!"

Marigold's plan for a grand 60th birthday bash spread like wildfire through Arizona's high society and soon

reached Stuart's ears.

Stuart slammed his hand on the table in rage when he heard the news. "She caused Todd's tragic death, and

now she gets to celebrate her 60th birthday all flashy? Outrageous!"

"The Knight Family has always been shameless. They caused Todd's death, Alaric is comfortably recovering, and

Marigold is planning a grand birthday celebration. It's too much," Ambrose agreed. Stuart shouted, "This is an

insult! The Knight family must all die!"

Stuart now saw the Knight family as enemies. Seeing them doing well only fueled his anger, while Ambrose

secretly smiled, as this was the outche desired.

"Dad, there's something else important," Ambrose said slowly, "Alaric has filed for a retrial of the Storm family

case from seven years ago. It seems the process is already underway."

Ambrose was shocked when he heard this news. Denny had recently gone missing, and now Alaric was filing for

a retrial.

This made Ambrose particularly uneasy. Could it really be related to Denny? If it was, Stuart might kill him.

"Alaric has filed for a retrial?" Stuart was also shocked. "How is that possible? Filing for a retrial requires

substantial evidence. How could the process start without evidence?" "I heard it from a reliable source," Ambrose

said, hoping it wasn't true but knowing it likely was.

Stuart asked, "So Alaric has evidence?"

"I don't know," Ambrose said, hanging his head low, "It's just the beginning of the process. Whether it gets

approved is still uncertain."

Stuart said, "Once it's approved, it will be too late. We must make Alaric withdraw the application before it's

approved."

Stuart had a bad feeling and was uneasy.

Ambrose asked, "Dad, it's been so many years. Even if they start a retrial, they shouldn't find anything, right?"

Ambrose secretly hoped for a retrial. If it cto that, he would present his evidence and completely drive

Stuart to the wall.

After all, he had been coerced back then. If it really cto the point of no return, his guilt wouldn't be too

severe. But he wasn't sure.

Without enough assurance to take Stuart down in one blow, he didn't dare take the risk.

"Don't underestimate him. We can't let it get to the retrial stage," Stuart said, waving Ambrose away, "Alright,

you can go now."

"Yes, Dad." Ambrose left, pretending to head to the elevator. When the elevator door dinged open, he didn't

enter but instead tiptoed back to Stuart's door.
