Chapter 357 The Hint Was Already So Obvious

Alaric was stumped. If he went, Marigold would just get more ticked off.

So, he didn't even bother bringing up Marigold's big 60 to Stellan.

After Cormac, Rowena, and Aurora bounced, the kids were still buzzing with excitement. Stellan hadn't seen

them in ages and was really missing them.

Stellan hung out with Caspian, Harry, and Elisa, soaking up their wild travel stories.

"Alright, it's getting late. kids, tto hit the sack," Alaric said softly.

"Daddy, | wanna sleep together with you tonight!" Elisa blurted out.

Stellan chimed in, "You just got back and already wanna steal Daddy from me?"

Elisa shot back, "Yep, Mommy, I've been crashing with you for years. Lethave Daddy for one night."

"Okay." Before Stellan could say anything, Alaric scooped Elisa up.

Stellan, Caspian, and Harry just shrugged. Harry said, "Elisa, don't you get the whole boys and girls thing? Even

if he's our dad, you're not a baby anymore, and you still wanna sleep together with him."

Elisa snapped, "So what? No matter how old I get, I'm still Daddy's little girl. Your thinking is messed up, Harry."

"Yeah, you've been watching too much TV. Chill on the TV and read a book," Caspian added.

Harry was fed up. They were triplets, but why were Caspian and Elisa so tight, and he was always the odd one

out?

"Pair of dummies," Harry grumbled, "I might be cool with my looks, but knowing you two have the sface

makeswanna get plastic surgery."

"Go for it. | hate seeing your face that looks like mine. We look the same, but our brains and personalities are

miles apart. You're draggingdown," Caspian shot back.

"Alright, you two can keep bickering," Stellan sighed, leaving the room and shutting the door behind her.

Alaric carried Elisa to the bedroom, leaving Stellan to crash in the guest room solo.

With school starting soon, Stellan went to work the next day, and Alaric stayed hto pack for the kids.

"For the new semester, you wanna stay in the dorms or at home? Your call," Alaric asked.

"I don't wanna stay in the dorms. If I do, I'll only be htwo days a week. I'll miss you and Mommy," Elisa said.

"Alright." Alaric didn't want them in the dorms either. Now that he was getting better, there was no need. "Then

no dorms. I'll drive you to and from school every day for the next six months." "Awesome!" the kids cheered.

On the first day of school, Alaric personally took the kids to school and watched them settle into their new

classroom.

Meanwhile, Cormac and Rowena took Aurora to her new high school.

Since high school meant boarding, Cormac and Rowena helped Aurora settle into her dorm, making her bed and

all. It was a four-person setup, pretty decent.

Cormac, being the thoughtful guy he is, brought gifts for Aurora's three roommates, which totally made their day.

"Alright, everything's set. Tfor us to bounce," Cormac said, feeling like he was sending off his own kid, all

worried and stuff. "Take care, get along with your roommates, and callif you need anything or just miss me."

"Uncle Cormac, you've said this like a million times already," Aurora teased.

Cormac gave her a playful tap on the head. "Now you're saying I'm nagging?"

Aurora grinned and then hugged him tight. "Thanks a ton, Uncle Cormac. Don't worry, I'll do everything you said.

In three years, I'll be back with news of an offer. | won't let you down." Cormac felt all warm and fuzzy hearing

that. He ruffled her hair. "Alright, this tRowena and | are really outta here."

"Okay." Before he left, Aurora grabbed his hand, stood on her tiptoes, and whispered, "Uncle Cormac, you better

make a move. If you two aren't together next twe meet, I'll be mad." She smiled, and Cormac gave her

another playful tap on the head.

Cormac and Rowena walked out of the dorm building together. Cormac couldn't help but glance back one more

time.

Rowena said, "I've known you forever, and | never realized you were such a natural dad. Bringing gifts for

Aurora's roommates? | didn't even think of that."

"It just hitlast night," Cormac said. "Aurora's had it rough, and she's so good it makeswanna spoil her."

"Yeah, she's amazing," Rowena agreed, then asked, "Heading back to the company now?"

"Yep." Cormac nodded. "I've been on vacation for days, and the last couple of days were all about getting Aurora

ready. | really need to get back to work." Rowena nodded. "Makes sense."

"What about you?" Cormac asked. "Where are you headed? Still staying at the hotel?"

Rowena shrugged. "What else can | do? | don't have a place in Arizona. Hotel's my only option."

Rowena's hometown was pretty poor. She'd made smoney over the years and wanted to bring her parents

out, but they didn't wanna leave.

So, she built them a nice house back hand got an apartment near her agency, but that wasn't in Arizona.

Cormac didn't know what to say to that.

"But I've decided to buy a house here in Arizona. The economy's booming, and it's a great place to start a

business," Rowena said.

"Okay," Cormac responded, kinda nonchalant.

Rowena said, "Go back to work. I'll look around, and if | find a house I like, I'll buy it."

"Alright, be safe out there." Cormac got in his car and drove off. Watching him leave, Rowena felt totally

helpless.

She'd dropped smajor hints. Why was Cormac still playing dumb?
