Chapter 311 Dexter told Joanne to invite Sheldon Larson, the doctor who exclusively treated Joseph, to perform acupuncture on Angela.
Angela had always been afraid of those fine needles piercing her skin, but at this moment, she silently agreed. The pain was just too unbearable. It was so intense that she wished she could just die.
"Are you okay?" Dexter sat beside her, his concern evident.
Angela couldn't say a word and merely let out a weak hum. The overwhelming pain washed over her like a tidal wave, making even her breathing rapid and unsteady.
Right then, her phone rang. Angela gestured for Dexter to answer it for her.

"Helpup." Angela took a deep breath, trying to support herself on the couch and stand.
Dexter quickly reached out to hold her. "You're in no condition to go. Let the COO handle it." His tone carried a hint of frustration.
Angela waved her hand before speaking with great difficulty. "No... That won't do. I arranged this meeting myself. If I don't show up, it will damage the company's reputation." Even though it was just a few short sentences, speaking left her drenched in cold sweat.
Dexter gave her a conflicted look, as if wanting to argue. But he was fully aware of her stubborn and hot- tempered nature. In the end, he had no choice but to carefully help her into a coat and support her as she took a few steps.
Angela's legs felt weak, and her strength was completely drained. She looked like she had just suffered through a serious illness.
"Could... Could this be the aftereffects of what happened last time?" she wondered aloud.
After all, she was a woman, and falling into the freezing lake could have allowed the cold to invade her body, even though she hadn't been in the water for long.
Right then she was feeling both cold and in pain. Even her bracelet seemed unnaturally cold against her wrist. The bracelet was a perfect fit, and taking it off always hurt, so she almost never removed it.
"Stop talking. You'll last longer that way," Dexter scolded, shooting her an exasperated glare.
They finally made it to the garage.
Dexter opened the car door and helped her in before going around to the driver's side. But in just those few seconds, Angela lost consciousness from the pain.

Menstrual pain severe enough to cause fainting wasn't unheard of. The doctors gave her medication and an injection. But even so, it took over three hours before Angela finally woke up.
Her face was very pale, and her expression was so pained that it was as if she had just suffered a miscarriage.
"The doctor said that your health has suffered serious harm as you've been exposed to something that allowed the cold to invade your body. You need to take good care of yourself. Otherwise..." Dexter trailed off, unable to finish. Angela, now feeling slightly better, anxiously asked, "Otherwise what?" "Otherwise, it could severely affect your fertility." Dexter let out a deep sigh.
"Something that allowed the cold to invade my body?" Angela knitted her brows. "Isn't this because of the lake incident?"
Dexter's expression turned cold. "We don't know for sure yet. I'll checkn everything that you've been exposed to carefully. For now, you need to stay in the hospital." Somehow, word of this situation reached Joseph and Natalie.
The two of them, along with Fiona, cto the hospital to visit Angela.
"How could this happen? How is your fertility affected?" Natalie'sexpression was particularly grim, as if she wanted to say something but was holding back. Fiona, however, said calmly, "It's okay. Let's focus on recovery first. Your health is the most important thing right now."
